Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors
Okay, here is some musing. Last night I finished 'Alan Wake 2', and apart from the fact that it's a wonderful game, it's also a love letter from the developer to their country of origin, Finland. Finnish culture was integrated into the story in a very natural way and never felt out of place. Now I've started 'The Invincible' from Polish developers, which is based on a Stanisław Lem book, and I'm enjoying myself as well. But it has raised a question in my mind: how come the most famous game from Ukrainian developers, 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.', and its upcoming sequel, are based on a russian novel? The second best game, in my humble opinion, 'Metro', has the same issue. What. The. Fuck.
Maybe one day we can see Ukrainian StarField based on “The Colony” by Max Kidruk or “Zoryanij Corsar” by Oles Berdnyk. Or maybe survival horror based on Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors.
